Our Discord: The NEUROMANCERS NEURO-VERSE

Our discord server, affectionately called the NEUROMANCERS neuro-verse, is a place for sharing and exchanging resources, building connections and Peer Solidarity. (Peer Solidarity is our version of peer support – a combination of community healing and political education!)

The Discord is home to all our Constellations a.k.a Peer Solidarity groups. Please ENSURE you have read through the essential information below, before joining. Once in the server you will be asked to confirm that you have read the information, then share which Constellations you would like to join, in order to access the whole server!

This will also grant you access to our Neurodiversity WhatsApp Group, Creative Collective, and Solar Survival Support Community (which includes both mini-grants and non-financial support) as well as additional trial projects to be tested in community before made public.

Your comment will be liked once you have been given access. If it is not safe for you to out yourself in the public guidelines channel, please send a DM to NEUROMANCERS and we can add you discreetly. We usually respond to entry requests in less than 24hrs.

Discord Info

  • The Discord is in alignment with everything else NEUROMANCERS stands for. Please be aware we are a radical abolitionist organisation and we expect everyone to engage in the space carefully and critically.

We want to outline the role of white people in this space as one built on a politic of reparation, de-centring, and (un)learning. Everyone within NEUROMANCERS can and may display white supremacy because it is a culture that has been instilled and coerced into all of us. Race is an - often - fluid concept, changed in alignment with whoever holds the most power through ownership and domination. However, among the acknowledgement of these nuances it must be made clear that white people are guests in this space.

General Self-Reflection Questions for Consideration When Joining:

What areas of social justice and abolition do you want to learn more about?

What skills, resources, values, and knowledge can you offer in this space?

How will you be a proactive member of the NEUROMANCERS NEURO-VERSE?

  • We ask anyone and everyone engaging in a NEUROMANCERS space to try and stick to these communications guidelines. Please familiarise yourself with them here.

  • As we state on our accessibility page, we support (and are) survivors. Whether you are a survivor of sexual violence, physical abuse, emotional abuse, psychological abuse, financial abuse, or religious abuse, if you disclose a person or group of peoples abusive and/or harmful behaviour, we will believe you and we will take it seriously. We won’t share that information, or act on it, without your explicit consent. If we take action, we will aim to centre the survivors' needs and work with you to find a solution, repair, support, or whatever else is needed.

Not all harm caused is abusive but that doesn’t make it any less valid. NEUROMANCERS aim to respond appropriately to any and all calls for accountability. If you cause low level harm (e.g. disrespect of other community members; not sticking to communications guidelines; not using CWs; engaging in oppressive behaviour etc.) NEUROMANCERS will make this clear. If the harm is repeated and you ignore our warning, you will be removed from the space.

If someone in the space or who might be in the space has caused you or other harm, please reach out to us. The NEUROMANCERS team are learning, fallible humans – please be patient with us and let us know how we can do better!
